Over the past few weeks, Lazio have been holding talks with the entourage of Nicolo Rovella over a contract renewal.
The 23-year-old joined the Biancocelesti in the summer of 2023 on a two-year loan from Juventus with an obligation to buy. Although he has only recently completed a permanent transfer to the club, the midfielder had long declared his love for Lazio, expressing his desire to stay at the club for the rest of his career.
While recent interest from Inter Milan and Premier League suitors may have tested his resolve, Tuttosport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi) insists that the Italy international has never considered an exit. In fact, the source reveals that Rovella and Lazio are currently working on a new deal.

The Turin-based newspaper reports that the two parties have managed to make significant progress in their negotiations. The Italian capital club is offering the player a two-year extension that would push back the deadline from June 2028 to 2030. Naturally, the new contract would include a pay rise.
Nevertheless, the management remains handcuffed due to the transfer ban imposed by COVISOC. Not only are Lazio prevented from signing new players, but they cannot register new contracts that would place additional financial burdens on the club.
Hence, while the two parties might be close to finding a final agreement, the official announcement won’t arrive before the club manages to lift the ban.
