Lazio owner Claudio Lotito was admitted to the hospital after suffering a health scare while performing his duties at the senate in Rome.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport (via La Lazio Siamo Noi), the 68-year-old fainted in the senate on Tuesday, which activated the health protocol. Hence, an ambulance transported the Biancocelesti patron to the Gemelli hospital.
Lotito reportedly wished to drive his car to the hospital, but wasn’t allowed to do so. The Italian lawyer and businessman underwent tests in the cardiology department and had to spend the night at the medical facility.
True to his habit, Lotito tried to downplay the whole episode, half-jokingly claiming that he was only transported to the hospital to undergo some tests while denying any illness. These were the first words of the club president after being admitted to the hospital, as quoted by LaPress (via La Lazio Siamo Noi).
Illness? What illness? I went to the hospital for tests. This is because of all the curses I receive. But unfortunately, they still have to put up with me. Do you understand what the issue is?
But despite Lotito’s comforting words, Adnkronos reveals that the Lazio chief isn’t expected to be discharged imminently, which suggests that his time at the hospital could be prolonged.
