Lazio seal Daniel Maldini loan from Atalanta with option to buy

Lazio have completed the loan signing of Daniel Maldini from Atalanta, with an option to buy that can become an obligation if conditions are met. The player underwent a medical and signed this afternoon.

Goal reports that Lazio will pay €1m for the loan plus up to €500,000 in bonuses, with a €14m option that could turn into an obligation during his six-month spell at the Stadio Olimpico.

He is the club’s third January arrival, following Kenneth Taylor from Ajax and Petar Ratkov from RB Salzburg.

A Milan academy graduate, Maldini had loans at Spezia, Empoli and Monza before a €6.5m sale to Monza in 2024. Six months later he moved to Atalanta for €13m.

This season he has made 11 competitive appearances for Atalanta, contributing one assist.
