Lazio ‘to pursue’ Carlos Espi as loan with obligation explored | OneFootball

Lazio are pushing to sign Levante striker Carlos Espi, but the move looks complicated by cost, competition and the need to balance their attack.

Sky Sport Italia reports that Lazio are working on Espi and face interest from Bologna and Premier League sides. The outlet adds there is a €25 million release clause in his deal, which runs to June 2028, while Transfermarkt values him at €20 million.

Alfredo Pedulla suggests Lazio would likely need a creative structure, with a significant loan fee and an obligation to buy linked to easily met sporting targets. He also indicates a striker sale may be required.

Pedulla believes Boulaye Dia should not be sacrificed, as he might be the most natural option for the attacking midfield role in Gennaro Gattuso’s 4-2-3-1. With Tijjani Noslin not on the market, Petar Ratkov emerges as the likeliest exit despite joining in January for €13 million.

Espi, 21, is a Levante academy product who became a key figure after late-season heroics, playing a central part in their survival. The 194-cm centre-forward scored 11 goals in 26 LaLiga outings last term.
