Lazio ‘to sell’ Celtic target Matteo Cancellieri as talks grow complicated | OneFootball

Lazio remain inclined to sell Matteo Cancellieri, though a switch to Celtic has grown complicated, Il Messaggero reports.

The winger joined in 2022 and has been placed on the transfer list, with his camp viewing this as the right time to part.

Celtic had emerged as frontrunners in recent weeks, with West Ham United behind the Scottish champions. The Italian was also linked with Fiorentina and Olympiacos earlier in the summer.

Lazio would still prefer to cash in, although Gustav Isaksen’s absence could give Gennaro Gattuso pause. The head coach expects to have the Dane available in the coming weeks as he recovers from groin surgery, while Tijjani Noslin is being tested on the right wing.

With Cancellieri under contract until June 2027, the hierarchy hope to find a solution before the window closes. The club have already banked fees for Ivan Provedel and Mario Gila, while Alessio Romagnoli and Luca Pellegrini could depart and Danilo Cataldi may extend.
