Lazio remain interested in Vasco da Gama winger Andres Gomez after failing to complete a deal in January.
Il Corriere dello Sport reports that the Biancocelesti tried in recent weeks but could not free a squad place. Talks to sell Matteo Cancellieri to Brentford and separate interest in Tijjani Noslin came to nothing, so both stayed at Formello.
The 23-year-old Colombian international began at Millionarios, then joined Salt Lake in January 2023. He moved to Stade Rennais for €10 million in the summer of 2024.
After a limited impact in France, he left on loan last summer for Vasco da Gama, who have since exercised their option to buy. The Brazilian club now have him under contract until January 2031 and paid €4.5 million to sign him.
Right-footed, Gomez operates on either flank. This season he has one goal and two assists in 10 appearances, and no player has completed more successful dribbles than him in the Campeonato Carioca.
They have maintained contact with the player’s camp and could return in the summer, if Vasco pursue a quick windfall.
