Lazio are reportedly keeping tabs on young Sevilla defender Kike Salas as they look to freshen things up at the back.
In recent days, the Italian capital side has been linked with a move for Hellas Verona centre-back Daniele Ghilardi who has been one of the club’s revelations this term. But while some claimed the two clubs are close to reaching an agreement, the white smoke has yet to emerge, as Lazio are seemingly struggling to meet the demands of Verona president Maurizio Setti.
So according to Il Messaggero (via LazioNews24), the Aquile have resorted to Salas as an alternative, sending their scouts to monitor the 22-year-old Spaniard. The young defender is a Sevilla youth product of the Andalusian club and has been with the first team since 2023. This season, he has made 16 appearances between LaLiga and the Copa del Rey, contributing with two assists.
However, La Lazio Siamo Noi claims that the Serie A side has already disregarded Salas after watching him in action. Moreover, the defender has only recently penned a new contract with Sevilla, extending the deadline until June 2029, which renders his departure unlikely at this stage.
