Enzo Le Fee moved from Stade Rennais to Roma in the summer, but today, his agent has suggested that his path may have led to a different Italian team previously – that path being to AC Milan.

The midfield has been an area of heavy focus for Milan in recent years, and with Sandro Tonali’s sale, the Rossoneri brought in Tijjani Reijnders and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. This summer, only Youssouf Fofana was added, but he has already been causing an impact.

It does not come as a shock to hear that the Diavolo were once interested in Le Fee, given Geoffrey Moncada has had an extensive love for the French market – which we saw with the Fofana purchase. However, the Rossoneri chose a different direction in the mercato at that point.

Today, the Frenchman’s agent spoke to Sportialia and revealed how far Milan’s interest went in the player, and his words have been relayed by Calciomercato.com.

“Enzo has always aroused a lot of interest among the big clubs. In January 2023, he was close to moving to Borussia Dortmund, and in the summer of the same year to Bayer Leverkusen. However, he chose to go to Rennes because of the special bond with coach Bruno Génésio. Milan had also shown interest in the summer of 2023.”
