Le Havre, 13th in Ligue 1, had lined up deals for Romain Faivre and Sofiane Boufal, but the Faivre move has fallen away.
According to Paris-Normandie, Faivre is instead expected to sign for Auxerre. He had been set to join on loan from Bournemouth.
Faivre’s recent loans were Lorient in 2023, Brest in 2024-2025 and Al-Taawoun in 2025.
Boufal, the former Angers forward, should join until the end of the season once he passes his medical. The Morocco international has 46 caps and 8 goals.
He would sign as a free agent after terminating his Union Saint-Gilloise contract in early January. Le Havre have been looking for width and extra punch in attack after scoring 15 league goals, one more than Auxerre.
