RBS women ready for restart in Graz

A clash between neighbours in the table kicks off the new year of league football – as our FC Red Bull Salzburg Women face SK Sturm Graz at the Messendorf training center on Saturday at 16:00 CET. The match, part of Matchday 15 of the regular season, will be broadcast live on ÖFB TV.

It may be the start of spring as far as league football is concerned, but both teams have been in full bloom for several days now. It's no coincidence that both the Graz team and Pavlovic's squad advanced to the ÖFB Women's Cup semi-finals. While Djakovic's team managed a last-minute victory against Vienna, Katja Wienerroither and her teammates enjoyed a relatively stress-free day at the office with their 2-0 win against FC Blau-Weiß Linz/Kleinmünchen.

Before the league breaks again for three weeks due to international matches after the upcoming matchday, the interlude in Styria awaits as a direct clash for a spot in the top four and the championship group, which will be decided after Matchday 18. The Black and Whites, like our team, can look back on an undefeated preparation period and a successful first meeting of the season, where a single goal in Liefering won it for them. Referee Christian Pfeiffer will oversee our women's mission to inflict SK Sturm's first home defeat since mid-October.

Sturm are a very stable and experienced team, and playing away will be a big challenge. For us, this is an important match because we're facing direct competitors. These are exactly the kinds of games we want to play – to see where we stand and to take the next step. The key will be bringing our intensity and courage to the pitch. If we stick to our principles and show our identity, we have every chance.
