Leandro Lozano has completed a medical and signed a three-year contract to become Boca’s first addition for the second half of the year, according to SuperDepor.com.

The Uruguayan, 27, arrives as a new option at right-back for the side coached by Rodolfo Arruabarrena.

After intense talks between the clubs, Boca’s Football Council bought 100% of his rights from Argentinos Juniors. The deal was finalised at a net 3,500,000 dollars after initial confusion over the figures.

Right-back had been an area of constant rotation for Boca, and Lozano offers consistency, temperament and a strong physical profile, qualities shown at Argentinos Juniors and earlier at Nacional de Montevideo.

After putting pen to paper at La Bombonera, he immediately joined training with the squad.

The rush to complete the move reflects a packed schedule. Arruabarrena wants him ready as soon as possible to include him in Boca’s Copa Sudamericana squad list.

Boca are due to face O’Higgins of Chile in the round of 32, alongside assignments in the Copa Argentina and the domestic league.
