Alex Lebarbier has extended his Real Sociedad contract until 2028 as the club continue to secure Sanse talent. Work on senior renewals for Mikel Oyarzabal and Álex Remiro remains ongoing.
According to Diario Vasco, the 21-year-old Parisian midfielder, who holds French and Cameroonian nationality, has been training with the first team under Pellegrino Matarazzo since 4 July, although he has yet to make his top-flight debut.
He arrived in the academy from French club Red Star and profiles as a physically dominant, defensively minded midfielder with composure on the ball. For Sanse he has two goals and four assists in 64 appearances.
A meniscus rupture in October 2025 curtailed his promising Segunda División season. After roughly six months out, he returned for the final four matches and contributed to securing survival in Liga Hypermotion. He totalled 12 league games and scored in the 3-3 home draw with Cádiz.
Sanse begin pre-season on Thursday, 9 July, and it is expected Lebarbier will stay with the senior group and feature in Saturday's behind closed doors friendly against Pau at Zubieta.
Over the past 18 months, Real, led by Bretos, have renewed around 20 Sanse players, covering all their talents. The latest to sign are Marchal, contracted to 2029, and Lebarbier.
