Leeds United have been hit hard, with Anton Stach and Joe Rodon ruled out of Monday’s trip to Manchester United by ankle injuries and April returns considered unlikely.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Daniel Farke confirmed the setbacks ahead of Monday’s match, saying May is the realistic target while any earlier involvement would be a bonus as the medical team work step by step.

Both were forced off in last weekend’s FA Cup quarter-final penalty shootout win at West Ham. Stach was caught late by Max Kilman after shooting, while Rodon landed awkwardly competing for a high ball.

If May is the timeframe, they are set to miss at least the next four matches, including the FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea at Wembley at 3pm on Sunday, April 26, plus Bournemouth away and Wolves at Elland Road.

Leeds host Burnley on Friday, 1 May, and a comeback then would make them available for the final four league games and, if Chelsea are beaten, a possible FA Cup final.

Rodon has played more Premier League minutes than any team-mate this season and Stach has been a regular when fit. Quick turnarounds have happened before, including Rodon’s 10-day ankle recovery in December, but it still looks highly likely they miss the next three league fixtures, with hopeful eyes on Wembley.
