Leeds United defender Gabriel Gudmundsson missed Sweden training on Tuesday after feeling unwell, days before their World Cup opener against Tunisia.

The Sweden Herald reported he stayed at the team hotel in Dallas with mild symptoms while the other 25 squad members were set to take part.

Gudmundsson joined Leeds for £10m from Lille last summer and was selected by Graham Potter for the World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

A hamstring injury curtailed his Premier League season but he still made the squad, returning to play 64 minutes in last week’s final warm-up against Greece.

Sweden begin their Group F campaign in Monterrey against Tunisia in the early hours of Monday, Swedish time.
