Leeds United striker Harry Gray missed Rotherham United’s 5-0 defeat at Peterborough United on Tuesday with a slight hamstring issue, the manager’s final game before he was sacked.
The Rotherham Advertiser reports that backroom staff Dale Tonge, Richard Wood and Andy Warrington will take interim charge for Saturday’s trip to League One leaders Lincoln City.
Gray, 17, joined the Millers on loan in January for the second half of the 2025/26 season and has been a regular. He has two goals in 12 appearances and more than 1,000 senior minutes.
Without him, Rotherham were heavily beaten in midweek and on Wednesday morning the club confirmed the departure of under-fire boss Hamshaw. They are six points from safety in League One and the process to appoint a new first-team manager is under way.
It has not yet been confirmed whether Gray will remain with the Millers to rehab what is thought to be a minor injury, or return to Thorp Arch.
