According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds ended a 45-year wait for a league win at Old Trafford on Monday, days after booking a first FA Cup semi-final since 1987. Daniel Farke’s side made more history while Manchester United railed at the referee and VAR.

Farke went for it from the off, taking selection risks without Anton Stach and Joe Rodon and asking his players to gamble in and out of possession. They missed chances galore, but the approach paid off handsomely.

Noah Okafor supplied the decisive moments, scoring twice. Both finishes were excellent, the second a controlled volley that took a nick, and a new song for him is already spreading online.

Bruno Fernandes tried to make things happen but ended with a yellow for dissent and a defeat that will sting. Michael Carrick had a point about the officiating, yet United were undone by errors and Leeds’ greater intensity.

There were telling off-camera beats. Ethan Ampadu was sharp in shooting drills as Jayden Bogle misfired, Dominic Calvert-Lewin high-fived a mascot with Brenden Aaronson, James Justin and Joel Piroe following. Farke urged Okafor to think and applauded the press, grew irked as the hosts went down to 10, then saw Ampadu wave Cunha up before Tanaka, clearly struggling with a knock, skipped the away-end run with Sean Longstaff.
