Attention may be on the FA Cup, but Leeds remain fixed on survival after back to back 1-0 home losses to Manchester City and Sunderland. With nine games left, they are three points above West Ham in 18th, with Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur between them.
Spurs’ slide has continued since Thomas Frank was sacked last month. Igor Tudor has lost his first three, 1-4 at Arsenal, 1-2 against Fulham and 1-3 at Crystal Palace, making it five defeats in a row and 11 league matches without a win. The Telegraph reports the hierarchy are already considering sacking Tudor.
They are one point above the drop before visiting Liverpool, and must still host Forest and Leeds. Roberto De Zerbi has been linked for the summer, while some fans and pundits have suggested Harry Redknapp and Tim Sherwood as short-term options. Despite domestic form, Spurs have reached the Champions League last 16.
Forest drew 2-2 at Manchester City after twice falling behind, and now face FC Midtjylland either side of hosting Fulham before travelling to Spurs. Vitor Pereira is boosted as Lorenzo Lucca is expected back, with journalist Gaetano Brunetti saying a two-hour Rome assessment found no surgery was needed and he should return quickly, which could mean a Spurs appearance.
West Ham have lost two of their last eight, winning four. Harry Redknapp told talkSPORT: “Tottenham are bang in it now... they could even be favourites out of the four to go”.
