Leeds United want to add a Premier League-proven striker to the squad this summer and have been plotting a move for Fulham star Rodrigo Muniz.

The club has reportedly made progress in their pursuit of the Brazilian, and positive signs are coming from the player and his representatives (Yorkshire Evening Post).

Joel Piroe fired Leeds back into the Premier League with 19 goals and seven assists, but the club still wants to have options.

Hailed by Fulham boss Marco Silva as a ‘quality striker’, Muniz scored eight times in 31 league appearances for Fulham last season.

He netted 11 times in 36 outings across all competitions, recording a goal every 121 minutes in the Premier League.

After a difficult start to life in London following his 2023 transfer to Fulham, he burst onto the season with nine goals, showing himself a reliable back-up striker.

However, Muniz wants a starting berth but has been unable to usurp Raul Jimenez in the XI. He is now open to moving for playing time.

Elsewhere, the club is also looking to bring a winger to Elland Road this summer, and Igor Paixao is a candidate after his move to Marseille broke down.

The Feyenoord attacker would bolster the frontline and add dynamism. He bagged 18 goals and 19 assists across all competitions for the Eredivisie side and would be a massive coup for Leeds.

Unfortunately, he is currently sidelined and will miss the start of the season.

Leeds should hold off on a transfer as the club does not know how well he will recover from the setback.
