Leeds United have appointed Greek businessman Andreas Dracopoulos to the Board of Directors following a personal investment, the club said in a statement, adding that he will help lead its mission to be an established Premier League side.

Dracopoulos and Paraag Marathe have known each other for years, and the Greek businessman had discussed investing in the club for some time.

He is co-chairman of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), a private international philanthropic organisation that supports projects worldwide seeking broad, lasting and positive impact. Through SNF, more than 3,100 nonprofits have benefited, and he has backed education, arts and culture, and medicine initiatives for decades.

Born and raised in Athens, Dracopoulos is a long-time supporter, having obtained his first official Leeds United membership 50 years ago. He brings extensive business and philanthropic experience to the club and community.

He joins chairman Paraag Marathe, vice-chairman Andrew Schwartzberg, and board members Peter Lowy, Eugene Schneur and Robbie Evans, completing the Board of Directors.
