In a recent post on X, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Leeds United are in the running to sign Union Berlin defender Danilho Doekhi. It has been mentioned that the Whites are eyeing a move to bring the Dutch centre-back to Elland Road in this summer transfer window.
Doekhi has been a rock at the back for the German club in this campaign after he put in a series of impressive displays for them on the defensive end of the field. The 27-year-old has found the back of the net seven times and earned one assist in 34 matches for the Whites this season across various competitions.
The Dutch talent is currently among the best centre-halves in the Bundesliga. Hence, it is no surprise that the Whites are showing interest in recruiting him this off-season.
His current contract at Union Berlin will expire at the end of this campaign, which could make it tough for Leeds United to sign him on a free transfer later this year.

Doekhi is a good tackler of the ball and can sense the danger well to secure the ball back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind putting his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and excels at playing his way out from the back.
Standing at 1.90m, the Dutch talent is a strong presence in the air as well. However, there are some concerns over whether he can make a smooth transition to life in the Premier League if the Whites manage to get him on board in the upcoming transfer window.
We can expect Doekhi to add more bite and steel to Leeds United boss Daniel Farke’s defence. He has what it takes to fight for a regular first-team spot at the West Yorkshire club in the coming years.
At 27, Doekhi is about to enter his prime, which makes him a good option for the Whites to pursue at the end of this season. Thus, Farke would be wise to go all out to bring him on board in the summer transfer window.
