Leeds United are not planning to sell Joel Piroe in the January window, although bids would be considered if they arrive, according to The Athletic.

The report adds that Daniel Farke wants the Dutch forward available for the second half of the season after Lukas Nmecha’s injury highlighted limited options up front. Any deal would also need to work for the player.

Piroe was central to last season’s Championship title win and promotion, yet he has become a peripheral figure this term as Farke has preferred other options. This weekend, Dominic Calvert-Lewin could become the first Leeds striker to score in five Premier League games since 2003 against Crystal Palace, while Piroe waits.

Farke’s switch to a three-five-two has revived Leeds, but it has not eased Piroe’s frustration. Calvert-Lewin has been paired with Nmecha or Noah Okafor depending on fitness.

Piroe has played only seven minutes across Leeds’ last four matches, most of them with two strikers leading the line. If Leeds do bring in a striker, having been linked with Troy Parrott, their stance could still change.
