So, that will be the aim for Farke and the players, but the recruitment team will already have one eye on next season, and despite the quality that Leeds have shown this season, they will need to improve if they are to survive in the top-flight.

And, it appears Parrott is a player on their radar, as TEAMtalk has claimed that they are ‘closely watching’ the former Spurs man, who has shone in the Eredivisie.

After a series of loan spells in the EFL, Parrott excelled in the Dutch top division with Excelsior last season, scoring 17 times, which prompted AZ to sign the Irish international on a permanent basis from Spurs.

He has replicated that impressive form in front of goal in the current campaign, finding the net 14 times for his new club.

The report explains that no formal enquiry has been made by Leeds, and he isn’t the only name on their shortlist, with Evan Ferguson, Cameron Archer and Josh Sargent also under consideration.

They add that a fee in the region of €20-25m could convince AZ to cash in on the 23-year-old.

The jump up in quality from the Championship to the Premier League has been highlighted in the past two years, so Leeds know they have to invest in the squad this summer.

Of the areas they need to address, you could argue a striker is the most important, as generally it is hard to find players who can score consistently in the Premier League.

Whether Parrott is that man remains to be seen, but he has clearly improved from his time with Millwall, Ipswich, MK Dons and Preston when out on loan from Spurs.
