Leeds United are holding firm on Jorgen Strand Larsen amid a shifting picture and uncertainty over Crystal Palace’s pursuit. Wolves say they are content to keep him, but his value would be lower after relegation and a sale could ease financial strain.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds had a bid rejected last week, while Palace talks were at £45m, potentially rising to £50m. Doubt emerged on Thursday night, with neither a withdrawal nor a completed deal.
A sale of Jean Philippe Mateta to AC Milan could come now or wait for summer, which may temper Palace’s appetite for £50m. Wolves are said to be firm on £45m and are pursuing Che Adams at Torino. Any arrival could either pave the way for a sale or act as cover.
Rob Edwards said Strand Larsen has trained and is available to face Bournemouth tomorrow. Leeds’ position has not shifted, they are keen and open to a deal but will not move on price. They see him as a long-term signing rather than a short-term survival fix.
Leeds will consider a full-back if the right option appears, with Daniel Farke keen to keep numbers lean. Talk of Rangers moving for Joel Piroe is wide of the mark, he wants to stay and Leeds are not pushing him.
Deadlines can reshape plans, little can be ruled out. Leeds hope Palace step aside and time nudges Wolves towards the Elland Road offer.
