Leeds United have been presented with Wolves striker Jorgen Strand-Larsen as a January option, with intermediaries said to have offered him to clubs, TeamTalk reports. Fresh interest is also emerging in Joel Piroe as the Whites assess their attack.
Strand-Larsen was heavily linked with Newcastle United in the summer while Alexander Isak pushed for Liverpool, yet he stayed at Molineux. West Ham and Nottingham Forest have since been credited with interest in persuading the Premier League’s bottom club to sell, and Wolves manager Rob Edwards, the former Middlesbrough boss, offered a mixed message before a 1-1 draw at Everton.
He said the club are under no pressure to act and do not want to weaken the team, although he expected interest in players. The report says Newcastle, Spurs, Everton, Forest and West Ham are keen, but no suitor has been given the green light to move. Wolves are described as open if the offer is right.
Leeds could part-finance any move by selling Piroe, and Middlesbrough are the latest to make their interest known, according to the same report. Piroe hit 19 goals and seven assists in 46 league matches last season, helping the title win and Premier League return.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s arrival has limited him to 12 appearances this season, with four starts.
“I’m struggling, of course. I’ll have to be patient. I feel like I’m definitely not far off getting more minutes.” He told Voetbal International.
