The FA published figures showing Leeds United paid £13,990,935 to agents in the 12 months between four February 2025 and two February 2026, around three per cent of the Premier League’s £460,300,308 total and 14th highest.

Following promotion last April, owners 49ers Enterprises invested roughly £100m in eight first-team signings and added free agents Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Luks Nmecha. Eight-figure fees went on Anton Stach, Noah Okafor and Jaka Bijol, with Facundo Buonanotte arriving on loan in January.

Across the division, Chelsea led spending on intermediaries with £65,102,247. Manchester City were next on £37,358,301, while Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool and Manchester United each surpassed £30m.

Among the three promoted sides, Leeds’ near-£14m was the highest. Sunderland paid just over £10m and Burnley £7.3m, the lowest in the league, with Everton second lowest at just under £10m.

Transaction records detail three intermediaries in the £18m move to sign Okafor from AC Milan. Two were paid for Calvert-Lewin’s registration as a free agent, and two for Buonanotte’s loan, with all other signings requiring a single payment.

Agent payments also covered academy contract updates for Sam Chambers, Rory Mahady and Josh McDonald. A fee was made to Daniel James’ representative when he signed new terms in July. Payments can also relate to sales, contract renewals or amendments, and scholarship agreements.

Such costs count towards Profitability and Sustainability calculations, although these payments will sit in the 2025/26 accounts due next year. Leeds reported a pre-tax loss of £49.2m for 2024/25 on Wednesday night.
