Leeds United slipped to a 1-0 defeat at home to a depleted Sunderland, a reminder there are no off-days in the Premier League.
According to Leeds Live, the result also gives West Ham the chance to open a six-point gap when they face Fulham tomorrow.
On 63 minutes Joe Rodon headed in, only for VAR to rule him offside by a tight margin.
Seven minutes later Ethan Ampadu was penalised for deliberate handball after VAR judged it so, Habib Diarra converted the penalty, Karl Darlow almost saved but the ball squirmed under him.
Daniel Farke introduced attackers and there were 12 minutes added, yet Sunderland withstood the pressure.
Ratings saw Darlow 7, James Justin 7, Rodon 7, Pascal Struijk 7 and Gabriel Gudmundsson 7 among the steadier showings, with Jayden Bogle 6 and Anton Stach 6 mixed.
Ampadu 5, Ilia Gruev 5 and Brenden Aaronson 5 were below par, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin 4 endured a tough night and Joel Piroe 3 made little impact.
From the bench, Daniel James 7 added energy and a fine cross, Wilfried Gnonto 6 curled just wide, Jaka Bijol 7 struck the outside of the post and Lukas Nmecha 6 linked neatly.
Sean Longstaff, who did not come on, was handed 1 for taking the towel used for Luke O’Nien’s long throw in the first half.
Manager Daniel Farke was rated 5, with his unchanged XI questioned after Sunday’s intensity and his tweaks arriving after Sunderland’s.
