Bookmakers have shifted their predicted final Premier League table for Leeds United after a swing of results that hurt West Ham but boosted Tottenham and Nottingham Forest.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds beat Burnley 3-1 on Friday to move nine points clear of the drop. They were nine ahead of third-bottom Tottenham, seven clear of fourth-bottom West Ham and four above fifth-bottom Nottingham Forest, with all three holding a game in hand.
West Ham then lost 3-0 at Brentford on Saturday, leaving them seven behind Leeds with three games to play. Defeat to Arsenal on Sunday would make Leeds mathematically safe, and because of goal difference even a draw would realistically be enough.
Crystal Palace’s loss at Bournemouth saw them slip below Leeds on goal difference. Tottenham’s 2-1 win at Aston Villa took them out of the bottom three, before Forest won 3-1 at Chelsea to move within one point of Leeds.
Tottenham are now one point ahead of West Ham and six behind Leeds. They host Leeds on Monday night.
Following Forest’s win in particular, bookmakers adjusted their relegation odds and updated their predicted final table, resulting in a Leeds change.
