Leeds United ‘to move for’ Karl Darlow replacement Lukas Hornicek at about £17m | OneFootball

Leeds United are weighing a move for Braga goalkeeper Lukas Hornicek as they seek a Karl Darlow successor and address growing uncertainty in goal.

Bola Ne Rede reports that Leeds want the 23-year-old, with Porto and Benfica also monitoring him if Diogo Costa or Anatoliy Trubin leave.

Questions persist after Lucas Perri’s difficult spell despite a £15.6m outlay, while Darlow is out of contract in June and Tottenham want him.

Hornicek joined Braga from Pardubice in 2023 and truly broke through in 2025-26. He made 33 Liga Portugal appearances, kept 12 clean sheets, posted a 69.16% save rate and finished with 74 saves.

Braga are expected to resist bids after Rodrigo Zalazar’s exit earlier this summer, though a sale remains possible at the right price. Agent Pavel Zika values Hornicek at €30m, and considers a fee near €20m, about £17m, realistic, despite a deal to 2028.
