Leeds United’s transfer picture features ongoing talks for Shea Charles, an anticipated Harry Wilson announcement and an imminent exit for Pascal Struijk.
Leeds remain in discussions with Southampton over Charles, 23, but agreement has proved difficult. Details of the process have emerged, including suggestions Crystal Palace entered the talks, yet yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk understands negotiations are still active.
Talks also continue with Julian Brandt, whose Borussia Dortmund deal expires this month. The Germany international has several suitors and could choose European football, but Leeds hope to persuade him to join their Premier League bid to consolidate top-flight status.
All is said to be in order with the agreement to bring free agent Wilson to Elland Road. He scored 10 Premier League goals for Fulham last season and adds right-wing and number 10 options, plus set-piece expertise and experience. An announcement is expected in the coming days.
Chairman Paraag Marathe told fans in his traditional summer sit-down to expect outgoings. Struijk’s move to Brighton is imminent, and the left-sided centre-half would be difficult to replace given his two-footed passing and strong Premier League displays last season.
Juventus defender Lloyd Kelly has emerged as a possible replacement, though he is only one of several players Leeds like and is not being actively pursued. Goalkeeper James Trafford is also admired, but there is no movement.
