Leeds United host Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday in their Elland Road finale, with Premier League safety already secured. A crowd of 36,000 is expected.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Monday’s 1-1 draw at Tottenham came amid absences, with Noah Okafor, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Ilia Gruev already expected to miss out, plus late omissions and a fresh in-game injury. Leeds will aim to extend their league unbeaten run to eight.
Leeds midfielder Ilia Gruev is out for the season after a meniscus injury sustained before last month’s 2-2 draw at Bournemouth, with Daniel Farke eyeing a pre-season return.
For Brighton, Stefanos Tzimas has been sidelined since early December with an anterior cruciate ligament injury and, following surgery, will not feature again this season. Adam Webster suffered an ACL issue in the summer, is back on the grass, but a return in the final two games looks unlikely.
Diego Gomez sustained a knee injury against Tottenham almost a month ago. Fabian Hurzeler did not rule out a Wolves return last weekend, which suggests he will be assessed closer to Sunday. Mats Wieffer picked up an ankle problem in the 3-1 defeat at Newcastle, then missed out late at Wolves, and will be checked later in the week.
Kaoru Mitoma appeared to suffer a hamstring issue against Wolves last weekend. Scans are yet to confirm the damage, and anything muscular would rule him out on Sunday.
Farke’s side return home with optimism and will hope to sign off in style in front of their supporters.
