The end of what could be monumental week for Leeds United sees them welcome the struggling champions to what should be a bouncing Elland Road on Saturday night on the back of their best result of the season.

Daniel Farke was handed a nightmare trio of fixtures with his job on the line, but his side have done brilliantly so far. Coming from 2-0 down before losing a heartbreaker at Man City could've flattened them, but the response in their 3-1 home win over Chelsea was spectacular.

So now they'll head into the game full of confidence and belief even as 16/5 home underdogs - give that confidence and belief looks in very short supply in Arne Slot's squad. The champions are still 17/20 match favourites though.

Maybe one minor improvement against Sunderland was Liverpool winning their first point after conceding the opening goal in a game this season, but the lack of cohesion is startling - there's a lot of square pegs in round holes after the costly but baffling summer recruitment drive at Anfield.

And it's now just two wins in nine - and six defeats - for the Reds, who are just impossible to trust here, especially if Leeds bring the same energy and endeavour that proved too much for Chelsea.

Liverpool don't draw many, Wednesday's stalemate was their first in the league this season, but you could see a draw here - they'd probably take one if they concede first yet again (as they've done in six of seven aways) but going on recent form you do sense Leeds won't lose this one.

So Leeds/draw on the double chance at 10/11 is probably the pick of the result markets in what's a real puzzle of a game.

Recent trend points to first-half goals

One thing pretty consistent has been goals in Leeds games - their last six going over 2.5 - and Liverpool have conceded 11 in five outings and 12 goals away from home in the league this season.

Both teams have scored in Leeds' last five home outings as well, so we must be looking at a few goals here and in fact the 13/8 on over 3.5 goals could be in sight as it's landed in three of Leeds' last four, while their games have averaged 3.6 goals over the last six.

A focus on the first half could pay dividends here, with plenty of goals in the opening 45 minutes at Elland Road this season - where Leeds are yet to gon in at the break behind in a game.

Leeds have scored in the first half of their past five home league games - both teams have scored in two of those but there's been over 1.5 goals in four of them and at 7/5 for another couple of first-half goals that looks like the best bet of the lot.

Back 9/2 player props Bet Builder

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has scored in his last two games and you know the former Everton man would love to make it three in a row against Liverpool of all teams - he's 5/2 to score anytime but is carrying an injury.

Mohamed Salah is 13/10 to find the net as he'll likely come back into the starting line-up, but for me Hugo Ekitike remains the most lively goal threat when he plays, and he's due a start in place of Alexander Isak, so the Frenchman's worth a look at 7/5 - especially if starting.

Preference here though is for a Bet Builder - starting with backing Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz to both hit the target for Liverpool - the Hungarian has been their best player this season and leads the team in hitting the target - while Wirtz at least had some moments against Sunderland.

Ethan Ampadu is always worth a look for a foul or two - and it's two that we'll back against what's still a talented Liverpool attack even if they're struggling to get it together right now.
