Leicester City ‘face a fight’ to keep hold of winger Stephy Mavididi as he is drawing attention from clubs in Italy and Spain.
The Foxes were relegated from the Premier League this season and face a campaign of rebuilding back in the Championship.
That may well not suit a number of players on the books, who could be the subject of approaches from interested clubs, while they are also monitoring players to bring in.
Attacker Mavididi is wanted by Atalanta, Bologna and Villarreal, leaving Leicester facing a fight to keep him, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Heading to either Italy’s Serie A or Spain’s La Liga may well be something which appeals to the 27-year-old over staying in the Championship next season.
He played in 30 of Leicester’s Premier League games in the recent season, but his efforts were not enough to keep them afloat.
Leicester do have the winger under contract at the King Power Stadium for a further three years, giving them some leverage.
He missed the Foxes’ final five Premier League matches this term and his future is now in doubt.
Going abroad would not be something which would be new for Mavididi as he has played in both Italy and France.
The winger turned out for Juventus in Italy earlier in his career, while he then had a three-year spell in France with Montpellier.
Leicester signed him from the French outfit in 2023 and he helped them win promotion from the Championship in the 2023/24 campaign.
