Leicester City midfielder Tierney signs new deal | OneFootball

Leicester City midfielder Sam Tierney has signed a new two-year contract with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Foxes this afternoon.

The 27-year-old joined Leicester City back in summer 2020. She helped to club to win the Barclays WSL2 title in her first season in the East Midlands. Tierney has gone on to make 151 appearances for The Foxes in all competitions and she is now the club’s longest-serving player.

These are tough times for Leicester City as they prepare for a return to Barclays WSL2, however, Tierney’s extended stay has provided the club with a real boost.

After signing on again with Leicester City, Tierney said “There are many reasons as to why I wanted to extend my time here. I have a genuine connection to this Club and have been here a number of years now. I have a lot of pride in wearing this shirt.

“I am committed and like to give my all to the Club, and we’re in a position now that requires that. I am really pleased to be here and hopefully being part of us rebuilding for a great future ahead.”
