Leicester City have reached their self-imposed season-ticket cap, selling 22,253 for 2026/27 despite relegation to League One.
According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the total includes 4,500 new buyers, with a significant proportion under-18s. The club has discussed lifting the cap at the 32,261-capacity King Power Stadium, and sales are temporarily paused with a register of interest open. Supporter members want relegation used to widen access for younger fans and regard progress on club communications as slow.
It is the first time since 2013 that season tickets reached general sale, yet take-up has remained strong after a turbulent two years on the pitch.
They favour pricing, promotions, incentives and matchday experiences suited to League One, with further talks planned within the Fan Engagement Framework. The aim is to grow the fanbase.
They note that the club has built a communications strategy reflecting feedback from fan groups and the Foxes Trust survey. With senior changes completed and a new chief and sporting director in place, they hope for more regular, meaningful updates on footballing direction, while accepting rivals must not be given an advantage. The club has committed to keep them informed before the new season.
