WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Foxes this evening.
The 24-year-old attacker joins Leicester City from Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan club Kristianstads DFF. Eiríksdóttir has spent the last two seasons with KDFF in which she has netted 26 goals in 51 outings in the Swedish top flight. The player has also turned out for Icelandic club Valur and Swedish side Piteå IF in her senior career to date.
On the international stage, Eiríksdóttir has been capped by Iceland on 43 occasions at senior level.
After joining Leicester City, Eiríksdóttir said “I am really happy to be here and I’m looking forward to getting started with the team. I am honoured to be here.
“I am coming here with ambition, a will to win and to work hard. I can spread some energy across the team on and off the pitch. I hope to contribute with some goals. I feel like I have such a great opportunity to improve here.”
Eiríksdóttir is Leicester City’s second signing of the January transfer window following the recent addition of Welsh international goalkeeper Olivia Clark.
