Leicester City ended a week in southern Spain sharper, pairing two friendlies with structured work under Russell Martin.

Friday’s session featured five-group passing races around mannequins, points for the quickest finish and a demand for quality, not just speed, as a winners mindset took hold. Hamza Choudhury, Conor Chaplin and Stephy Mavididi won one contest to big celebrations.

City then worked on responses to Cadiz’s press, with the back line and midfield three combining in tight spaces before the two eights shot. Harry Souttar and Bade Aluko fed Tommy Neale to release Chaplin and Choudhury for three neat goals. Against Malaga, Leicester passed out of pressure more cleanly, freeing Sammy Braybrooke and Louis Page to break forward.
