According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, Leicester City will host Northampton Town in the Carabao Cup first round at the King Power Stadium over 7-9 August.
The tie was confirmed on the day their 2026/27 League One fixtures were released. After two relegations in two seasons, the Foxes will play in the third tier for only the second time.

Russell Martin's side are among the early favourites to win the league, as they did under Nigel Pearson in 2009.
City begin away to Notts County on Saturday 15 August at 12.30pm, Sky Sports' lunchtime TV game, then face Burton Albion at home before MK Dons away.
They will enter the Carabao Cup in the first round, as they did under Enzo Maresca and Marti Cifuentes.
In Group B, City are alongside Walsall, Stevenage and Fulham Under-21s, with dates and kick-off times to be confirmed.
