Leicester City have confirmed their retained list after relegation to League One, with 10 players to depart this summer. LeicesterMercury.co.uk reports that captain Ricardo Pereira will be joined by Patson Daka, Jordan Ayew and Jamaal Lascelles as contracts expire, while Asmir Begovic is in talks over a new deal.
Ricardo leaves after 220 appearances across eight seasons since arriving from Porto in 2018, having won the FA Cup, Community Shield and Championship. Earlier this month he reflected on highs and lows and said he would keep following the club with pride.
Wanya Marcal also exits at contract end. Loanees Jordan James, Aaron Ramsey, Joe Aribo, Dujuan Richards and Divine Mukasa have returned to their parent clubs.
Academy options have been exercised on Henry Cartwright, Tommy Neale, Ryan Donnelly, Thomas Wilson-Brown and Reiss Khela. Contract offers are on the table for Stevie Bausor, Harry French, Mirsad Ali, Bobby Amartey, Silko Thomas, Logan Briggs and Josh King.
Chris Popov departs after an impressive spell with Morecambe, scoring seven in 18, though the Shrimpers were relegated. Jake Donohue, Jahmari Lindsay, Alfie Fisken, Toby Onanaye and Olaoluwa Omobolaji also leave.
A 2-2 draw with Hull City at the end of April confirmed the drop after a dour campaign. Tipped for promotion in pre-season, Leicester instead suffered a second successive relegation.
Trips to Wigan, Doncaster, Burton and Mansfield await next season. The next manager is undecided after Gary Rowett’s interim spell.
