Leipzig stance gives Benfica fresh hope over Amoura deal | OneFootball

RB Leipzig are not in talks with Wolfsburg for Amoura, which could give Benfica renewed encouragement in their pursuit. According to Glorioso 1904, Leipzig under Martín Demichelis are prioritising Hoffenheim forward Fisnik Asllani instead.

Benfica monitored Amoura closely in summer 2025. The Algeria international remains tied to Wolfsburg, but relegation to Bundesliga 2 could ease an exit this window.

Although contracted until June 2029, Wolfsburg may need flexibility to balance finances. Unlike past indications around 40 million euros, the club now appears open to a lower fee due to demotion.

In 2025/26 Amoura made 33 competitive appearances for Wolfsburg. Across 2,057 minutes the 26-year-old winger scored eight goals and added three assists.

Transfermarkt values him at 20 million euros, keeping him among Wolfsburg’s most valuable assets. Benfica have not filed a formal bid, but Leipzig’s absence could present an opening for Rui Costa if the club choose to move again.
