Corinthians goalkeeper Lelê is likely to miss Brazil’s friendly against the United States in Fortaleza on Tuesday after picking up a problem in the first meeting between the sides.

According to Meu Timao, she skipped Monday’s training and was due to undergo tests, with head coach Arthur Elias saying she probably will not be available.

Brazil face the United States at 21:30 at Arena Castelão in the second friendly of this FIFA window. On Saturday at Neo Química Arena in São Paulo, Brazil won 2-1 from behind. Lelê started but went off on 37 minutes of the second half with thigh discomfort, with Lorena coming on.

Corinthians also have two other players in the Brazil squad, defender Thaís Ferreira and midfielder Duda Sampaio. All three started in São Paulo, with Thaís substituted in the second half due to fatigue. Elias could make changes for the return in Fortaleza.

After Tuesday’s match, Lelê, Thaís and Duda will rejoin Corinthians for the club’s World Cup break. The rest runs from Wednesday until 24 June, with a return on 25 June.

Not all of the squad will have the full break, as seven Corinthians players have been called for a Brazil training camp in Itu from 15 to 20 June. The call-ups are goalkeepers Nicole Ramos and Ana Morganti, right-back Ivana Fuso, midfielders Ana Vitória and Andressa Alves, and forwards Jaqueline and Jhonson.
