Lens reached the Coupe de France final with a 4-1 home win over Toulouse on Tuesday night, sparking a pitch invasion at Bollaert.
According to L'Équipe, supporters streamed on to the turf at the final whistle after a 28-year wait for a return to the showpiece, the club’s first final since 1998.
A red and gold surge swept across the grass, producing jubilant scenes as players celebrated among the fans in the aftermath of the victory.
Florian Thauvin was pivotal, scoring and supplying an assist to drive the hosts through.
This is Lens’s fourth Coupe de France final after 1948, 1975 and 1998, and they have yet to lift the trophy.
Pierre Sage’s side will face Strasbourg or Nice, who meet on Wednesday at 21:00, with the final set for Friday 22 May at the Stade de France.
