Léo Ortiz is out of Flamengo’s final mid-season friendly against Olimpia (PAR) in Brasília on Friday night, with Varela and De La Cruz doubtful.

Kick-off is 20:00 Brasília time at Estádio Mané Garrincha. The squad will fly to the capital on Friday morning and return to Rio after the match. According to Coluna Do Fla, head coach Leonardo Jardim will be without Léo Ortiz, while Varela and De La Cruz remain doubts.

Ortiz has been with the group throughout the mid-season camp but did not feature in the Portugal friendlies as he continues to recover from a muscle injury. He asked to accompany the squad to Portugal and worked closely with the club’s medical staff.

The plan is to have him fully fit for the restart in the second half of the season. As a result, he will not board the flight to Brasília on Friday.

Varela and De La Cruz have no injuries, however they are being managed by the medical department after workload during the World Cup, where Uruguay went out in the group stage. Both resumed training at CT Ninho this week and responded well, with selection to be decided.

Danilo, Alex Sandro, Léo Pereira, Plata and Carrascal, recently back from international duty, are also unavailable. Arrascaeta and Lucas Paquetá remain in treatment for injuries and will miss out.
