Leon Bailey is edging towards a permanent move to Hull City, according to Sky Sports.
Hull are said to be close to agreeing a deal for the 28-year-old Jamaica international, who has one year left on his Aston Villa contract.
Bailey spent the first half of last season on loan at Roma before being recalled amid an injury crisis. He was then left out of Villa’s pre-season tour of Indonesia.
Newly promoted Hull are understood to be finalising terms on a long-term contract.
Villa are reportedly interested in further business with Chelsea by pursuing Nicolas Jackson, and are said to be in direct talks as Unai Emery looks to bolster his attack after Morgan Rogers’ move to Stamford Bridge.
Any move is complicated after Alejandro Garnacho joined Villa on loan with an obligation to buy if certain conditions are met, an arrangement that prevents another Chelsea loan this summer. Chelsea are valuing Jackson at up to £65 million, having signed him from Villarreal for around £32 million in 2023 before he scored 11 goals in 33 appearances on loan at Bayern Munich last season.
