Levante CEO José Danvila has on Thursday responded to claims of mounting interest on the part of La Liga rivals Barcelona in the signature of Karl Etta Eyong.
Barcelona have of course been hotly tipped as a future landing spot for attacker Etta Eyong for several weeks now.
This comes amid the understanding that the Blaugrana have earmarked the Cameroonian as an ideal long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
Etta Eyong is for his part in the midst of a stellar campaign to date, giving rise to nine direct goal contributions in Spain’s top-flight.
Speaking during an interview with Radio Marca (as cited by Diario Sport) this week, the aforementioned José Danvila was therefore drawn on claims that Barcelona have already gone as far as to make contact over a deal for the club’s young striker.
The Levante chief, however, was quick to deny any such contact, assuring:
“Barça have not called Levante to look for Etta Eyong. And as for the Premier League, we haven’t received a single call either. We have received a firm offer for the player, but it has been discarded”.
