Lewis Dobbin says he still aims to break through at Aston Villa, despite not making a competitive appearance since his £10m move from Everton in summer 2024. His latest loan at Preston has been productive.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, the 23-year-old joined West Brom on loan that summer, making 18 appearances, only two from the start, before Villa recalled him.
A subsequent spell at Norwich began brightly until injury curtailed it. He then joined Preston last summer, scoring eight goals in 34 games in all competitions as they flirted with the play-offs.
During the international break he admitted he is unsure about his long-term future, with two years left on his Villa contract.
Dobbin said he takes it game by game and will focus on performing at his highest level. He remains contracted to Villa and keeps the long-term aim of playing for them, but accepts he might move if an opportunity does not arrive.
