Paris Saint-Germain are weighing whether to ask for their 11 April trip to Lens to be moved, with the tie wedged between Liverpool quarter-final legs on 8 and 14 April. According to L'Équipe, any postponement would be decided by the LFP, and Lens’ consent would not be required.
On the eve of Saturday’s visit to Nice, kick-off 21:05, doubts persist within the club about making the request. The head coach is awaiting updates and has stressed that every team wants the best conditions and that interests on all sides must be considered.
The complication is that postponing Lens would use up PSG’s last rescheduling window. Only one slot remains to rearrange a Ligue 1 match, between matchdays 33 and 34.
Should PSG eliminate Liverpool, a semi-final against Bayern Munich or Real Madrid would fall on 28 or 29 April then 5 or 6 May. A league game against Lorient sits between those dates and, with no window left, would have to be played.
The LFP board has the authority under Article 22 of its statutes to set the fixture calendar and amend it during the season. When approached, it generally seeks to accommodate clubs before European matches.
