Chelsea welcome Paris Saint-Germain to Stamford Bridge later tonight for their Champions League round of 16 second leg clash.

The Blues know it will take something special to keep their Champions League dream alive at the expense of PSG’s title defence.

Liam Rosenior’s troops must produce a remarkable comeback after suffering a crushing 5-2 defeat in the first leg at Parc des Princes last week.

Chelsea managed to go toe-to-toe with the French champions until the latter stages.

It was anyone’s game heading into the final 20 minutes as Malo Gusto and Enzo Fernandez cancelled out Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembele.

However, the Blues didn’t have the quality to see out a decent result.

They ultimately capitulated in the final minutes, with a moment of madness from Filip Jorgensen opening the floodgates.

The Danish goalkeeper’s needless giveaway while trying to play out from the back allowed Vitinha to reestablish PSG’s lead with a deftly taken lob.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia then came off the bench to bag a brace and put PSG firmly in control of the tie.

The pressure is now on Chelsea to respond in front of their home fans, although they’ve already let them down by losing 1-0 to Newcastle United over the weekend.

Meanwhile, PSG arrive at the English capital brimming with confidence, having lost just one of their previous four visits to Chelsea’s headquarters.

How Chelsea could line up:

Chelsea’s chances of staging any surprise comeback took a massive hit when captain Reece James was ruled out for several weeks due to a hamstring injury.

To make matters worse, his understudy, Malo Gusto, could also miss out due to illness, leaving Chelsea severely depleted in a key area.

These setbacks could force Rosenior to make at least two changes from the side that lost to Newcastle, with Josh Acheampong set to make his first Champions League start since December 2025.

He’ll likely join Wesley Fofana, Trevoh Chalobah, and Marc Cucurella in defence while Robert Sanchez keeps his place in goal ahead of the calamitous Jorgensen.

James’ setback could see Fernandez drop into a deeper midfield role alongside Moises Caicedo, while Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho line up on either side of Cole Palmer.

Joao Pedro should lead the line once again, hoping to snap his two-match goal drought.
