As has been widely reported, Endrick is likely to leave Real Madrid on loan during the upcoming January transfer window.

The 19-year-old striker is one of only two outfield players to have not played a single minute of football under manager Xabi Alonso, alongside Ferland Mendy.

Despite having now returned from injury for over a month, the Brazilian forward has not been given an opportunity by Alonso, leading to speculations over his future.

With his spot in the Brazil squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on the line, Endrick is ready to secure a loan move away so that he can play regularly.

Olympique Lyon open talks for Endrick

Now, according to Fabrizio Romano, French club Olympique Lyon have started talks to sign Endrick on loan from Real Madrid in the January transfer window.

The Ligue 1 outfit have made an official approach to Real Madrid over a winter deal for the young attacker.

Furthermore, Lyon have also presented their project to Endrick and their plans for him, with the striker now open to further talks while assessing all options on the table.

Lyon are currently fourth in Ligue 1, only two points behind leaders PSG, while they are also competing in the UEFA Europa League.

So, if he agrees, Endrick will join a team in the race for the title while offering him European football as well, which will, in turn, allow him to showcase his quality to Real Madrid as well as Brazil manager Carlo Ancelotti.

Lyon do not have any established names in their ranks in the centre-forward position, with manager Paulo Fonseca relying on the likes of Pavel Sulc and Martin Satriano, along with 18-year-old Enzo Molebe.

So, Endrick would stand a chance of playing regularly should he join Les Gones in January. For now, he is open to talks with the club while keeping all his options open. Only time will tell if he ends up at Lyon or somewhere else, as a January loan exit looks certain.
