Ligue 1 – L’Equipe’s team of matchday 34, without PSG

As after every matchday, L’Équipe has named its team of the week for Matchday 1 of the 2025-2026 Ligue 1 season, which was played this weekend (find the results and standings here). After their 2-1 defeat to Paris FC at Stade Jean Bouin, Paris Saint-Germain saw none of its players selected.

There is no surprise in seeing PSG left out of the team of the week after such a lackluster performance. Coach Luis Enrique was angry, and it was hard to imagine L’Équipe being any more enthusiastic about the Parisian performances. Without forgetting, and this is very important, that there are other top-level players in Ligue 1. They deserve to be highlighted after another exciting weekend.
