GFFN editor-in-chief Luke Entwistle, and sub-editors Raphaël Jucobin and Bastien Cheval face off in our Ligue 1 predictions competition. This season, GFFN will also be hosting guests. Earlier this season, The Athletic’s Alex Barker participated and became the first name on our guest leaderboard, and he has since been joined by Julien Laurens. It’s three points for a correct score, two points for a correct score difference, and one point for a correct result. Who will come out on top at the end of the season?

Game of the week: RC Strasbourg Alsace v Paris Saint-Germain, Saturday 19:45 (UK)

PSG are something of a wounded beast coming into this one. The results haven’t been bad in recent weeks – nor have they been excellent – but more worrying have been the performances. They only just scraped over the line against Auxerre and then failed to dispatch Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League. Luis Enrique has been left bemoaning a lack of confidence in front of goal, and even more recently, “imprecisions” in build-up. It is a bad combination and one that leaves PSG some way off their best heading into this one. With Khvicha Kvaratskhelia out of this one, too, Strasbourg may smell blood.

Le Racing have every right to go into this one with confidence. In the reverse fixture, at the Parc des Princes, they were unlucky not to come away with all three points, with Les Parisiens relying on a late equaliser. And the club are in the midst of a new manager bounce. Players have upped their level in recent weeks, and that was evident during the 4-1 mauling of Lille OSC last weekend. At home, they could cause an upset here.
